1970's gouache on paper painted on the Cote d'Azur, South of France by Belgian artist André Pierard. Colourful and energetic representation of sailing boats against a harbour backdrop.

André Pierard had a second home near Cotignac in Provence in the south of France and would spend his summers there during the 1970's setting up his easel and painting provencal and locally inspired scenes. His work was quite extensive and eclectic as he produced landscapes, portraits and abstracts. Highly colourful and vibrant these original works make a great impact.
