Colourful French Fauvist Landscape, Golden Wheatfields by Isabelle Pardoe

€630.00

Late 20th Century oil on canvas view of a rural landscape by Franco British artist Isabell Pardoe. The painting is not signed but came directly from the artist's atelier.

Isabell Pardoe trained at the Slade school of Art in London and later settled in the south of France where she continued her artistic career.

This charming painting captures the serene beauty of a pastoral landscape with vibrant and harmonious colours. Rolling fields dominate the foreground, depicted with golden ochres and soft yellows that suggest ripeness and warmth. A winding path meanders gracefully through the scene, inviting viewers to explore the undulating terrain. The middle ground is adorned with clusters of slender, deep green blue trees, contrasting starkly against the warm earth tones, adding depth and intrigue. In the background, distant hills are painted in cool blues, evoking a sense of tranquillity and distance. The sky transitions smoothly from a pale yellow to a soft blue, reflecting the gentle light of either dawn or dusk. Unique in its bold use of colour and fluid brushstrokes, this artwork masterfully balances realism with a dreamlike quality, encapsulating the timeless allure of rural landscapes.
