Dinah Neill, a British artist working in the south of France has created this wonderful interpretation of an orphan elephant in clay with white patina. Whilst in Kenya Dinah visited an elephant sanctuary involved in helping to save orphan elephants whose parents had been killed for their ivory tusks. This elephant is part of a superb collection, each elephant unique. Some in white, some with a skin tone patina and occasionally in raku. The excellent detail and naturalistic poses she manages to mould show how well Dinah knows these elephants and their individual characters.
